Not Much Happening

Our build has gotten to the stage where there is not a lot happening. Speedy Gonzales has left the building and his cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez has moved in.

Hopefully, I will be able to pick up our bathroom basins this weekend. I received an email from the builder today to tell use that tiling is not due to start for another week and a half. I still need to measure and order our custom shower grate from My Shower Grate Shop.

If all goes to plan, our shower grate will look like the promotional image on the right of the screen.

The shower grate is the last item that we need to purchase, every thing else is sitting on the floor in our apartment or at suppliers waiting to be delivered.

  1. I have MAJOR grate drain envy! We had to pick 200 x 200 tiles for our shower floor so the tiler could get enough fall and I asked if we could continue the 400s that are in the rest of the bathroom into the shower and put a grate drain in and they refused because they worry about them leaking. My husband is a plumber and even said he would do it himself but they wouldn't let us!! It would have finished it off so much better!! We too have lost "speedy Gonzalez" unfortunately, though our tiles got finished today. Guessing the painter is next in line and he will be there for two weeks apparently. We have bought extra tiles to get floor to ceiling tiling done but our tiler wanted to charge too much to lay them so we will get it done after handover by someone we know. Anyway, looking good, do you have an idea of your finish date yet?

    1. What a shame! I would have thought that channel grates had proved themselves by now. Builders are quite funny about own trades, such a shame. I bet your hubby is sooo frustrated.

Yay for your tiles. I hope they looked good in the end.

No idea when we will be completed. I wish we had an idea because we need to sell our current place :/

  2. Love your drain grate! Is it just like a smart tile but just longer? Can it be taken out (for cleaning purposes)?

    1. Hi B, it is just like a smart tile, so you can lift it out to clean underneath. It arrives today, can't wait to see it!

Hey mate, I'm enjoying your work on here.

Thought I would let you know about a company I've had success with recently with regards to shower grates. Have a look on google for SAS Drainage Solutions

    Beautiful design and quality.

All the best, and I'll be sure to come back and see some more jobs.

  4. Nice work you've done here. I'm also looking for shower grates like this, unfortunately the link above got it sold out.

I just want to ask if anyone have tried http://www.paigestainless.com.au/shower-grates/ ? I need a nice grate for my bathroom project.
